the weekend

so lately Christian has become quite a chatterbox. many day's i think he's trying to keep up with his big brother in how much he can say. in fact, sometimes it escalates into a yelling contest (not mommy's favorite game). but i get a kick out of his quiet chattering, because a lot of times he will be so soft, it sounds like he's whispering to himself. i know i talk to myself a lot. wonder if that's rubbing off on him. i don't know. but today he was having a conversation with his brother and daddy.

the other day we were getting to leave the house and Nicholas helped Isaac put his shoes on. took us a few minutes to round everything up and just before we walked out of the house, i caught a good look at Isaac's face. not sure when or even really how he managed it, but it made for a laugh for us all.

you can't see it quite as well in the picture, but yes, that is shoe print... from the bottom of the shoes he is wearing... all over his face. oh, the things little boys do.

Isaac is also into doing everything himself. things like taking off his shoes, getting himself something to eat or drink (there has been a middle of the night yogurt party, and many large puddles of water on my kitchen floor from the water dispenser on the fridge.) but my one of my favorites is how he gets ready to go somewhere. it's been in the 50's lately, but he thinks that he needs a stocking cap and gloves nearly everywhere he goes.

i love all these little bright spots in my day. praise the Lord for His blessings in our lives.

Psalm 127:3 "Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward."
