messes & imaginations

nearly everyday, as of late, feels like it revolves around cleaning up messes & spills, wiping little cheeks & noses & mouths, washing towels & clothes & toes, putting toys in the totes & kido's in their beds. a lot of mess for a family of 4, but when 3 of those 4 are boys, i hear that's what happens. :)

the other day, Isaac and i indulged in some ice cream sandwiches and when we finished i noticed that he and his monster shirt had matching chocolate mustaches. not sure if it was coincidence or if he was feeding his shirt when mommy wasn't looking. oh well. i'm sure i would have to wash it anyway due to another mess.

i love the imagination of my boy. he was helping me clean out the dishwasher (a chore that he loves, for some reason), and found my loose leaf tea holder. however, he thought it was "glasses"

i informed him it was for tea. so he thought he would have a drink. (there is a tiny little tea cup on the end for decoration)

i know there will be a day when i will finally get ahead of the laundry & dishes, and i won't be stepping on cheerios throughout the kitchen. but that probably won't happen until the boys are grown and out on their own. and that day will come before i'm ready, i'm sure. so for now, i try to content my self with only being 1/2 done with most things and just enjoy what God has blessed me with.
Psalm 127:4-5a
"Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one's youth.
How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;"

  1. I was thinking about that very verse as I was reading your notes! I can see you are enjoying the work before you of "sharpening and making straight the arrows" so that someday when they leave the quiver, they will be on the straight and narrow path .

so glad you stopped by! i love to know who's been visiting, so leave a comment, if you would please!
