catch up...

so i know it's been a while since Nick or I have added anything to our blog. sorry about that to all you who have been trying to keep up with us in this way. life has been a little crazy for us and i've not had my computer until this weekend. so here is a little catching up.

Nick's 3rd chemo cycle was a tuff one, both physically and emotionally. But God is so good and we all got through and we all learned. So now there is one cycle left.

The weekend was busy busy busy. My brother Jared and our friend Nate C. came down and stayed with us & helped us move. It was so fun having them both around and felt like a little bit of Nebraska here with us. Isaac really seemed to enjoy them both, of course, he loves being the center of attention. I'm so thankful that they were able to come down. Many laughs were shared and they even helped with the dishes on Sunday due to it being mothers day.

We love our new house. It's a bit of a mess right now so i'm waiting to put up pictures until it's not just random rooms full of boxes, but actually looks like a house. So far i have all my kitchen boxes emptied. We've (ok, i've) already rearranged the living room and i'm thinking i like it better this way. Nick agreed once he got home from work. My next goal is to get all the odds and ends on the first floor put away before i take on the 2nd floor, that way we can have people over on Thursday night for Bible study. Isaac finds the stairs less of a novalty now that we actually live here and i'm making him climb them himself every time. But all the space is still a joy and he takes advantage of it by running everywhere, sometimes taking laps around the kitchen island just for fun. My favorite things include...

-a dishwasher that actually get's the dishes clean no matter how full it is!

-a garage to park our car in that's feet from our kitchen door

-the biggest bedroom i've ever had
-Isaac's bedroom being on a different floor from the kitchen and living room (i don't have to be so quite when he's sleeping now)

Yesterday was a tired day for all 3 of us. Isaac got up early and didn't have much for a nap so last night he liturally passed out while sitting with me. It went something like this... sitting next to me on the chair watching dancing with the stars, playing with the ring on his pasifier, flip, flip, flip, head rolls back onto mama's shoulder with eyes closed as the hand drops to his lap. It was so cute. Nick fell asleep on the couch about when i took Isaac up to his bed. Today is shaping up to be a similar one, considering Isaac fell asleep sitting in the shopping cart while we were at Lowe's. It really suprised me since he loves to be out and about and it was about 2 hours earlier than he usually naps. I've been tired as well, but hey, at this point in the pregnancy, I'm always tired.

Speaking of the pregnancy... i'm ready to be done. Don't get me wrong, i love being pregnant and having our kids. But any mom out there understands what i'm saying. I've had many people tell me recently that i look like i'm days away from having this baby, but alas, still 4 weeks to go. Of course, i remind myself that this is the easy (and quite) part.

So life has been a bit crazy, but God is so good to us. Praise the Lord for so many friends and family who are praying for us. Love you all!

  1. Glad you guys are "settled" in your new house (whatever that means!) Hope the next few weeks FLY by for you Sarah and the next round of chemo isn't so hard on Nick. "Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust." Psalm 103:13-14 Hang in there guys, and may your testimony bring glory to God.

  2. Wish there was an easy way to be there and comfort or encourage you. We love you.

  3. Thanks for the update! Love the family photo. :) Can't wait to see more of your house (as time permits :) ).

    Praying for you all!!!!
